my creative space

Not too much creativity being squeezed in today but thought I'd join in this meme anyway, it might get me posting more often.

The extent of my creative endeavours today consisted of a little bit of sewing and a lot of cuddling one of my greatest creations on the couch, in front of a sweet little movie "Fairytale" with a big fairy lover by my side ohhing and ahhhing. I spend alot of time with the little one by my side, in my arms and strapped to my body. I can do most things with her by my side, although I still haven't figured out how to use the sewing machine with her swaddled to me yet, may just have to wait until I can back carry for that one.

More creativity to be found tonight when all little uns are tucked up tight and over here thanks to Kirsty:)

sage's pixie

I've been busily working on the "local love" pixies for upcoming stocking, i know i know, it's been upcoming for what seems like ages, but i promise you it's coming! Anyway I was just finishing of this little miss which features one of my fav prints by Lara Cameron when I noticed Sage's eyes bulging out of her head when she looked at it. She loved it! I decided since I like this one so much and Sage obvioulsy did as well, then she could have it.

So here's Sage's first pixie, which is apparently quite tasty. I do have another one all made up for her, it just needs stuffing so I'll be popping that one up randomly in the next week.

So now I'll be making another pixie to replace Sage's as well. So the plan at the moment is a super exciting, and quite large stocking by tik and I featuring lots of fabulous prints by local aussie fabric designers in about 2 weeks

oh and did you notice the very special wings? Beautiful rainbow hand dyed felt from winterwood. Just awesome and more like them to come....promise

scenes

One of the most enjoyable things about moving house in my opinion, is the setting up of scenes in the new home. I have always enjoyed setting up visually pleasing little scenes in my houses, so I thought I would share a couple in the new home. Not that I have achieved much. The setting up of scenes is definitely one of the last jobs to be done, and sadly I still have an awful lot of stuff to unpack.

Coral and awesome art by belle and boo and Catherine Campbell

A pixie featuring molly bird print by Kristen Doran and patiently awaiting a set of wings

My very favourite sewing box with the thread I'm using to handquilt my very first quilt. So Yeah this ain't a scene as such but I love how the colours work.

said quilt :) waiting patiently for it's turn. I sooooo want to be quilting this but I really must get these pixies done! Oh and awesome granny square rug made many neons ago by Granny Annie. It's double thickness and super dooper warm.

And cute cute owls sitting in my kitchen:)

Ok back to the pixies!

anouk

I was just reading tikki's most recent blog post and at the bottom in the tags was a picture of Lily in the little knittie Sage was wearing in my last post, which i have found is called anouk. Anyway thought it was sweet to see Lily in in comparison:)

new

a new house complete with stunning decorative touches. I grew up in a very old house with lacework (well that's what i'm calling it, what is it called?) on the ceiling. I love it:)

a new sewing basket featuring an image by one of my very fav illustrators, picked up for a meagre $2.75. It was one of those finds where I had a moment or two of stunned shock upon seeing it, then gleefully snatched it up before anyone else could. Not that the gentlemen nearby would have been interested but you never know

new pixies, coming along slowly slowly

a new dress from a clever aunt for a not so new anymore little lass.

and a bundle of new fabric. What's new in your world?
