the best way to spend a winters day
Of course the best way to spend a winter's day is inside at the sewing machine whilst the toddler plays contentedly. Particularly, if the weather involves rain, hail, thunder and lightning! I must admit I do love this type of weather, but only if I'm inside. Which today I was, sewing away.
On my sewing table today I have an array of pixies at different stages of assembly, a pile of said pixies arms and legs, another pile of babushka's and a sweet little angel reminding me I need to make more like her. The angel is Tully's and has adorned various pieces of clothing since I made her a few weeks ago. She has also spent some time in the washing machine, hence the slightly bent wings. Poor angel.
Upon my table I also have a new bundle of fabric that my brave postie delievered today. I could see the parcel in my letterbox through the hail and was so eager to see it's contents but of course waited for the pelting to stop, no way was I getting belted by little nuggets of ice even for an exciting fabric parcel. I so love getting fabric in the mail, I think it's nearly my favourite type of mail! And just look at my selection. Some awesome echino, cute Japanese and some great spots and stripes. All intended for new pixies. See the way cute rainbow/mushie one on top, well the very sweet bonus to this is the little flowers and and apples are adorned with glitter. My word Miss Tully will be a bit excited about this one, I know I was!
Hmmm what else, well to say thank you to all you lovely readers and my friends over at facebook AND customers at my new store on made it, I'm going to have a little giveaway. As I have a bit of a production line of babushka's on the go I figure that's the best thing to offer up. So what do you have to do? Well you need to "like" pint over on facebook and then simply leave a comment here telling me what your fav thing to do on a winters day is. Easy! You have until Sunday night to leave a comment, and I'll select a winner with the random generator thingie on Monday. Cool.

My favourite thing to do on a wet and cold winters day is to curl up in front of the fire with my doona, a good book and a milo :D
curl up under a blanket with the boys, and all read our own books with either a plate of biccies or some popcorn!
My favourite thing is to snuggle up with my girls and read stories/watch a dvd.
Ooooh, lovely! My favourite thing to do on a winters day is to snuggle up with my husband and kiddies, usually with a book in hand :)
my favourite thing is to curl up on the couch in front of the fire with a cup of coffee and some knitting, maybe watch a movie at the same time... bliss!
On a cold Winter's day I like to make a hot cuppa then sit down and play with puzzles with the kiddies. :)
my favourite thing to do on a rainy day is to curl up in bed with some yummy chocolate and watch a soppy movie.
Stay in bed!! :)
Depends what mood I'm in. Sometimes it's get out in the rain and splash in puddles (I'm such a child!) but other times it would involve a warm blanket, wood fire and chocolate :)
my favourite winters day thing to do is bake special treats for the kidlets and warm my toes by the fire ;)
Great work Megsie and thanks for the chance to win :)
My fav winters day thing *picture this scene*
Me snuggled on the couch under a fleece blanket with my hand sewing while the kids play nicely (This is treasured cos it's rare LOL) on the floor building with their blocks or coloring in :)
Favourite thing to do on a Winters day, rug up the 5 kids in all their warm gear and head down to a local forest and run around being silly, getting dirty and collecting things :)
Followed by a warm flask of Milo and rolls with our favourite fillings.
xx
I love to sit on the verandah and breathe in that beautiful fresh earthy smell that you only get when it is raining!
I also love to be indoors on days like this - curled up on the couch under a doona knitting with my girls snuggled up with me reading or watching a movie..or playing happily with their dolls/puzzles/blocks/colouring! :D
Oooh, loving your new fabrics!
and only 43 days to go? jeepers!
OK, not that we've had a victorian winter this year, but I love to go to my mum's and sit in front of her fire eating beautiful home made soup, and hot bread made by dad. yum!
This is my first visit to your blog and I adore your softies. Love the fabrics too. My favourite winter activity is sewing and stitching in a warm room with some good music going.
Love the new material! True winter days are rare here but there is nothing better than doing a bit of crafting or artwork while listening to great music and drinking a nice hot cup of chai.
Well pre-kid days, my favourite rainy day would involve sleeping in my warm, cosy bed and watching crappy daytime tv all day! BUT oh how times have changed and these days it's more about hot toastie sandwiches, building towers of blocks and reading Where Is The Green Sheep!
I love to cook up a storm on a cold winters day. A nice stew or curry and bake some goodies to enjoy late at night in front of the telly :)
My all time favorite thing to do on a winters day would be to hit the ski slopes! But you can't go past a hot choccy with marshmellows. :D
snuggle up and watch dvds or get rugged up in some warm clothes and get creative! I cant stop sewing at the moment and am loving it <3
4 gorgeous boy... 1 snuggly mumma... 1 queen sized bed and lots of giggles.
It's my favourite thing to do ANY day but Winter brings a good excuse (and more willing children)
If its not too freezing - definitely wet weather gear puddle stomping with my toddler - otherwise we tend to get out the paints and get arty farty or bake!
My favourite thing to do on a rainy day is snuggle up in bed with the kids watching movies, playing games, reading books and eating warm comfort food like pudding and casserole and having hot chocolate.
I love being able to potter around home with a bubba strapped to my back and snuggling in. :)
Hi Meg, My fav thing to do is bring all the kitchen chairs into the loungeroom and form a sort of half circle with them. Cover the chairs in doonas, blankets and sheets to make an indoor cubbyhouse. Then climb in there with comfy cushions, 'Mr Magoo' and 'Flopsy Mopsy' and read our favourite stories together.
On a rainy day the girls like having a 'Bubble Dance Party'. It involves The Fairies in full swing, pettiskirts and bubbles. :-)
a comfy couch, a warm fire, a cup of tea and some knitting :)
