my creative space

Rather poignantly, my creative space today consists of little angels. Poignantly because today is Pregnancy and Infant loss Rememberance Day. Eight years ago our first little angel, Meika was stillborn so it's very bittersweet to have angels in my space today, particularly as the angel I have just completed has red curly hair, just as I always imagined Meika to have. Today's space has had tears and sad memeories but also extra cuddles for Meika's siblings.

I began sketching these little angels whilst away and haven't been able to stop thinking about how I would make them. So even though I have many others projects and trades to complete I had to get these made and "out there". After 3 attempts my little angel is just as I imagined her, cute. Sage seems to like her as well, which is lucky as she gets all the prototypes.

How very special that she was completed just in time for today. In memory of my own little angel and her many, many little friends I would like to offer a giveaway of one of these little angels. Simply leave a comment and spare a thought for all the lost little souls and their families, and I'll make up a special little spirit for your Christmas tree. Entries will close Sunday evening.

Hugs Megsie, I could not imagine the grief and sadness you must feel to have lost her.
I only recently found out I have a sister/brother in the sky...as an only child I always wished to have a sibling. Well I now know I do and I know they are my little guardian angel looking after me and my family. xx

Isnt it strange how grief can overwhelm you without any considering for the fact that its dinner time ;) My heart goes out to you today and all the other families that have had to grieve their children too soon. We lost a little baby "Issac Caleb" before his time. How precious it would be to have a little something to remember him by at Christmas time (although, I think it would be too sad for me to pack him away, I wouuld find another home for him during the year)

I remember with a stark clarity the night my niece was born and lost her life. Every anniversary that goes by is marked by ritual and remembrance. I can very much understand how cathartic making your lovely angel would be.
