phew ......

Oh my goodness christmas can be such an exhausting period and we didn't even go anywhere!!! Normally we travel all over the countryside to catch up with family but since we are heading to vic for little sis's wedding in Jan we stayed home for chrissy. we really did have a lovley restful day. Just lots of eating and lazing around :) I'm not really sure why i'm so exhausted :?

Thought i'd share a couple of pics before we head off for a couple of weeks of catching up and camping. Unfortuanltey as always i didn't quite manage to make all the pressies as i had envisaged. This is what i did achieve though. 2 new dresses for the tullster. here she is modelling one on xmas day. I followed the auntie cooki bag pattern (sorry i'm lazy today and can't be bothered putting in links lol) It is such an easy pattern and has a great cut to it. I finished this the night before xams but didn't make the drawstrings for the straps _ i still have to do them (blush)

Mr. Giraffe (or zebra as the kids call him) for asher. He loves him. Asher also got some cool new duds but no modelling shots of them. Mr Giraffe is from a Melly and Me pattern (again too lazy for the link)

and two little chibi dolls from the one red robin chibi dolls pattern :) these are so soft and cuddly. Tully loves hers:) the other one is for tully's little mate. She hasn't gotten it yet and if her mum is reading this she better not show or she'll spoil the surprise. Tully came into our bed in the middle of the night with chibi doll lsat night. awwww...

anway that's it save a few hairclips here and there. The paints have well and truly been retired for a few weeks. Hope you all had a wonderfully merry chrissy and celebrate the New year in style :) Happy holidays :) see you in the new year

christmas pixie :0

I just realised today that i popped a sneak peak of the christmas custom pixie up ages ago but didn't show the completed pixie. Reason being i have been waiting for tikki to send me a picture of the set. yep, i haven't even seen the finished set! prod with a wopping big stick tik:) anyway here's a picture of the tee. I love her. I was going to use the little boy version for chrissy cards but that has happened yet so probably won't. I have actually been looking at a lino i cut for chrissy a few years ago and never printed. Sherrin has me inspired to give it a go again.

first of to finish the very last custom for the year then it's a big break from painting for me:) my brushes are looking worn and tired. I think santa might need to bring me some newies

ok tik posted pics of the set. I'm stoked with how it turned out. Just perfect. Slight Chrissy tone but can be worn all year round. Check it out

bethany is the last little pint I'm planning on doing this year. Well that's what I'm planning but you never know.;) With Christmas only a few weeks away :0 and then little sis Lana's wedding in the new year, my plate is looking pretty full. I have a thousand and one things I'm hoping to get done before we go so no more pints for now. Only the ones that come in cool frosty glasses:) Lookout for a return to the shop towards the end of January 2008 :)
oh and she will be sneaking up sometime tommorrow

my super dooper secret swap

Gee I love swaps! I was really lucky to be involved in a secret swap through Nappycino . I was even luckier to have scored the ever talented sherrin as my secret swapper. Needless to say I knew the moment i picked up the parcel it was Sherrin and i was so excited. Tully, Asher and I all received beautiful little packages. Utterly spoilt!

I had been watching Sherrin's progression with her linocuts on her blog and was pretty stoked to get an original copy for myself. My parcel is the first. I got a beautiful, beautiful recycled stationary set, which i had been searching for ages for. I really love recycled paper:) and this beautiful fabric that i had actually commented on. So thoughtful:)

Asher received this gorgeous little parcel. perfect for the pixie boy:)

Would you check out this set! I love this colour on asher. I would noramlly avoid orange on the rednut but it actually looks great on him. This is another of a fav print of sherrin's. I love how she has printed on the fabric and the colour combinations are so striking. AND a perfect fit too! These are going to be a much loved little number.

And lastly the tullster. Perfect card for the mermaid lover! She was stoked. She was also super stoked in this gorgeous little dress. I absolutley love this fabric and it looks so lovely on tully. Such a unique little dress that has lots of room in it for her to wear for many seasons to come. She wore it out with a little white top under it and it looked so perfect.

A huge thankyou sherrin for doing such a wonderful swap. :)

I'm still finishing my swap.....nearly done.

i heart tunics

i really do:) i wear them way too often but still find myself looking for more.
Today whilst in spotlight i spotted this beautiful japanese fabric. I had seen the lighter versions of this and but never the black! I'm pretty excited about this find any nearly ran home to rummage through my pile of patterns for the perfect one.
I have a heap of Mum's old pattern's that i just love. I have narrowed the choice down to these two. I will probably go with the style of the pink one in the pattern at the top as I'm still breastfeeding and the idea of a zip at the front rather than the back appeals. I also like the little pockets and the darts that rise up from them. That being said, if i wasn't breastfeeding I would probably go with the brown spotted on at the bottom but with a zip up the back that makes it a bit more difficult for asher to gain access on demand. I guess i could try to alter the pattern but i will need to draft them in a bit as it is and that's enough mucking around with a pattern for my liking:) anyway wish mne luck and bit of time to devote to a project for me for a change

whilst rummaging through my patterns I came across this beauty. Talk about stylish swimwear. I actually really love the dark floral ones but there is no way i'm making myself bathers! And would you look at the length of the legs on these lasses! Jeepers!!

Today was also crafting day, which was actually the reason for the trip to spotlight. Tully and i were going to make our Christmas cards today inspired by some we had seen on kids craft weekly a while ago. Tully decided to make Mrs. claus and doesn't she look just perfect. I think Mrs.claus got into the Christmas Brandy a bit too early :D Sadly this was the only card tully made which left to finish off the rest of them :$ They weren't nearly as special as Tully's.

wolly the christmas tree

when i was growing up we always had real christmas trees. Having grown up in southwest victoria where the early settlers tore down nearly every gum and planted pines there was no shortage of trees to be found at christmas time. Road sides were abundant with pines and every year dad would bring us home one to decorate. This year we went off in search of a suitable tree but came home empty handed. Living in a city those pesky little pines just weren't as numerous. So we decided to bite the bullet and get the type of tree we really wanted, a wollemi pine. And he is just lovely. We call him wolly although tully gets confused and keeps calling him fluffy which i think it a great name for him as well. I can't believe that these trees were only discovered about 8 years ago and they are already commercially available. As they are a rainforest plant they are perfect for indoors and since they've outlived the dinosaurs I'm sure hoping they are going to be strong enough to survive our household. More info can be found about them here.
I've been a bit consumed by christmas at the moment and haven't been doing much on the t-shirt front. These 4 tee's have been aplliqued and are now just waiting for some paint. Hopefully they'll be making random appearances in the store by the end of the week.
