schools in

first there was the birthday and now the next milestone in Tully's life, her first day at school. I was a little nervous for her and sad that my little miss was heading off and days of dress-ups, barbies and princess play would be relegated to weekends and school holidays. She was pretty blase, a bit shy and intrigued by all the going ons....

......but now she's loving it..... but ash and I are still missing her....

my creative space

Today I'm celebrating one of my greatest creations, yes it's a celebration of Miss Tully Lila turning 5. As all mum's now our creations certainly don't get any greater than our children. We've been up very very early, had a picnic at the park, browsed the toy shops, bought a new drawing book and now we're home and all is quiet thanks to sleeping children who may have gotten up just a bit too early.

I could get out some crafting now but I've just been making a zillion little clips and I'm a bit clipped out. I really need to get a baking but little miss Sage doesn't really like that idea

I'd love to sit on a mushroom in the sunshine ;)

but instead I think I'll relax and read my new fav mag and smile at the bub

more craftiness over at kirsty's

party prep

Got a party on the cards this week. Little miss Tully turns 5 in two more sleeps, and OH my Lordy it's sooooo exciting! Well can you remember being 5? This birthday has been talked about and planned since Christmas, damn the miss is excited.

So, anyway we're having a teaparty to celebrate. The invites have been sent, the presents bought, the baking planned and now I'm up to the finishing off the little pressies for the kiddies. I've made about 20 odd little brooches and have to admit I've enjoyed making these very much. They're simple and lots of fun and I get to indulge in playing with fabric and buttons, win win:D

the block

it's started to rain....and rain and rain and rain.... That was our weekend away at the block, my brother-in-law, Andy's family bush block. it was so lovely though. Tucked away in the warmth by the fire, trying to figure out how to crochet and make granny squares with no luck, drinking many many cups of chai and watching on as children played happily, most of the time.

It's an awesome place to relax and get back to nature and feel the softness and beauty

and catch up with cousins

play some tunes

and get those welly's on and splashing in the puddles with a splish, splosh, splash

little boy lost

Tonight I finally pulled out the pattern and fabric I have been promising myself I would get to and look what I found, a little boy on horseback lost in the pattern packet. aww I sort of felt a bit sorry for this little fella lost. There must be a Mum somewhere wondering where he is.
I love these old photos. It's the exact format all my childhood photos are in, why did they ever change!
I also love this sweet little pattern. I'm making the little blue number and have gotten all inspired by the local love stocking to cut into some of Lara Cameron's bonsai for the pockets. I love the shape of these pockets and the zip down the front of the pini! Cute and in apple green cord, way cute. Hopefully Tully will think so too!

my creative space

Intensely pink, isn't it! My creative space today consists of invite's for Miss Tully's 5th birthday and a bit of clip making. Of course Tully's favourite colour is pink and the more intense the better, whose isn't at that age?

I had planned on making the invite's with the gocco but after wasting 3 screens and 3 sets of bulbs, I realised the image wasn't carbon based and thus would not work, so I just printed them on the printer. The same printer that I've bought with the intention of using for gocco! derrrrr. Oh well, Tully doesn't care and I'm sure the invitee's won't care either....but i do!

The clips are for the local love stocking over on ozebaby. There's a few others up and going up today or tomorrow (depends if the baby who is attached to me and refuses to sleep by herself, will actually settle). Auctions that are up will be finishing today. Crazily there are a pair of tikki's awesome pants that have not even had a bid! Do you know how awesome these are!!! Quick go and bid on them now!

And this is my big soon to be 5 year old. She finished kindy yesterday and starts school after the holidays (weirdo SA schooling). Oh my goodnes they just grow way too fast! And yes, she does believe she's a princess, although she does want to grow up to be a fairy or a mermaid and thinks she should be going to mermaid school.
