pixies are up and flying

Oscar and Lillian are up ready for some little person to love and cherish right now. Gee it was a battle getting shots of them today with crazy winds and crazy kids!

We're off for a break across the border tomorrow for a bit so I'll be awol for awhile. Whilst I'm gone a very special collaboration between tikki and I will be up for auction. It's up previewing at the moment so take a peep if you like.

on my desk - a day late

Why do you have two camera batteries if both of them are flat at them same time? I found myself asking myself this afternoon. Oh well, the most exciting thing on my desk today and yesterday was this awesome piece of printing equipment which arrived on my doorstep on Tuesday. It was my birthday and Lach was so clever to organise shipment from Japan just in time to arrive on the exact day!!!! No he wasn't really that clever, it was just sheer luck. It still looks like that too! All boxed up. I still have a fuzzy head from a crazily horrible headcold and I don't want to tackle the gocco until I have a real brain again. Hope that won't be long now! I visited the health shop yesterday and got some stuff to help fight the dreaded thing and get me back on track. We got the gocco (and the image) from here.

Apart from staring aimlessly at the gocco, and looking after the ankle biters, I have also finished off a couple of t-shirts and have one softie/tee set all ready to go up in the shop Keo softie and t-shirt set should be making an appearance sometime tonight. I will also have a little gertie girl softie and t-shirt set appearing over the next day or so. She still has to "get stuffed".

Here's a little sneak peek at the next pikki tint set I'm about to send off to Tikki today. It's sure is going to be a cute set I think. A special boy's one!

bloomin' lurgy's

What a crazy weekend we had here. A bit yuck really. The kids and I have colds for about a week, hankies go in and out of the wash with disgusting speed. Gross. Poor little Asher also came down with an ear infection on Saturday which resulted in some very sleepless nights for us all and very zombiesque people yesterday. And we're still all full of the dreaded lurgy! Poor us! Lach is the only trouper who hasn't come down with it.

So regardless to say not a lot was achieved over the weekend. However, I did pull out the paints brushes and finally finished the t-shirt that has been sitting on my easel for the last coule of weeks. It's going off to tikki's to become a pikki tint set and should make an appearance on ozebaby sometime soon. I also started 2 t-shirt to go with a couple of softies, which I have also finished.

Keo (above) is all ready to go and his little friend Gertie just needs some more stuffing and wings. I also made a couple of hairclips inspired by the accessories Gertie was sporting. They should be up in the shop some time today.

sketching

arggghhhhh it is just so darn hot here! My third post for the day and as you probably guessed I haven't really achieved alot today. Soooo lethargic.

Ok whinge over:) I've been lying around on the lounge sketching whilst the babes watched playschool and Asher climbed over me for more "juice". We're all feeling the heat a bit. I had these sketeches in my head for a while and today I finally got them down on paper. They are both intended for collaborations with my talented sis tikki. We call our collaboration stuff pikki tint, a bit of a spin on both our stuff. So one will be a pinnie and the other a boys set. Can you guess which will be which? I'm thinking the boy might need to have a little bit more of a smile and energy (he's looking like I feel) going on but otherwise I'm happy with the sketches. Now to find the energy to do the paintings and then whizz them off to tik before she sets off on her easter holiday.

some little gals

I managed to finish off a couple of gals last night. I'm trying to use the tone my little neice Lily does when she says girls. For her they are little gals. Too cute. I have lots of ideas for new ones but I'm really hanging to make a pixie softie. I can't stop thinking about how I could make it. You know the pattern and all that. I already have fabric planned I just need to do a little bit more thinking about the wings. I think they will be great pressies. aOf course Tully's will have to be first and then a little boy onefor asher as he misses outa bit, cause he doesn't demand them. Now if I was making firetrucks that would be another story.

So here's Suzy Strawberry first. I've done a couple of strawberry themes before but this tee just screamed for strawberry fabric. This little lass will be going up in the shop sometime today.

This little lady is for my little neice, Nikayla. I don't think she reads my blog so I don't think her surprise will be ruined.

And last is a tee and some pockets that are about to be whizzed off in the post to tikki to finish off for a belated prize for NC. A bit tardy and no excuses. So I hope the receipient doesn't mind and that she likes the set. The flower is the cooktown orchid and is the floral emblem for queensland where this tee is heading to. I really like doing the pixies with native flowers. I think there will be more of these soon. Oh and speaking of sets I forgot to post pics of a special custom tikki and I did for a very patient lady. Tikki has pics of it here

Shesh my kids are going feral! Best go break up the brawl....

santa claus is coming..../sneak peaks :0)

i really don't like hi-5 but i can't stop humming this little ditty. I'm getting a bit excited about the upcoming festive season :) On the weekend we went along and checked out the much talked about christmas pageant here in adelaide. We only caught the end bit of it but it was very impressive. Tully and Asher loved it! So did the other 300 000 who attended :0 The next day we participated in the walk against warming. Unfortunately the south aussie's weren't as active partcipants with only about 2000 or so there.

Yesterday tully and i baked. I don't buy biscuits anymore as i much prefer to make our own. Much yummier and not as chock full of crap. This is our batch from yesterday. Tully just wanted to make circles but i couldn't resist the trees lol.

and this is a little sneak peak of what i've been doing and have just about finished.

and another little sneak peak of the latest pikkitint venture. My side done and on to tikki now.

and the last sneak peak is the beginning of my next project which should be appearing up at ozebaby before the end of the week.

pretty bunny

i did a sketch of this little bunny ages ago and have been meaning to paint it and finally got around to doing it yesterday. I've popped her up live in tikki's store now :) She was really quick to do so i've put her up at a lower price than normal.
At the moment tikki and i also have a bit of an auction going for a pikki tint set. I've been blown away a bit by how popular our stuff is and this auction has REALLy capped it. I am so pleased and thankfull that people appreciate and love our stuff so much. It is so rewarding to know that every item goes to a loving home and that there are people who really respect the amount of work, care and individaul attention each of our pieces receives. So a big thankyou to those who purchase, bid or just appreciate both mine and tikki's stuff. It fills my little heart with joy and makes me whistle with pride :)

piKKi tint

this is the first of a few collaborations tikki and i are planning. cute as a button this little cherry pixie will be the only size 1 pinni we will be selling, so it's an absolute OOAK piece for the lucky winner. i have two pinni cuts for a size 3 and a 5 waiting to be painted...but you might have to wait a bit to see what i come up with:D
