a stocking at Gossamer Dreams

Do you know it actually been years since I stocked a painted pixie tee? Years I reckon, well I can't remember the last one I did, so it must be.

Once upon a time, I churned these babies out weekly but slowly they evolved into softies and well the rest, as they say, is history. I must say however, amongst all those painted tee's there have never been anything like these very special rainbow antonia tops which will be going up tomorrow night at the Gossamer Dreams stocking.

These beautiful tops are made by Sara from Willow and Moo. I ordered a few of these for my girls and neice and mentioned to Sara i planned painting pixies on them, well one thing lead to another and Sara sent me a couple extra to paint up to sell. Well the tops waited and waited until finally I got my butt into gear and voila, here they are! And i am super dooper stoked with how they turned out. And you know, I still haven't painted my girls tops, shame on me!

It has also been quite a bit of time since I last stocked a pixie softie. When I was invited to take part in the Gossamer Dreams stocking and told the theme was wonderland, well how could I not make pixies! Josie will be my contribution for the night. I also have another in the works who didn't quite make the deadline and so will be appearing at Made it quite soon.

And for the boys there's Nesbert.

So the specs. Gossamer Dreams stocks the 15th of each month for only 24 hours. You will be able to see previews in the morning with everything going live at 8pm Queensland time.

tick

I was ticking off softies at a pretty good rate, that is until today. Yay for the weekend and Lachie taking the little people off for fun outings, but Monday came around way too quickly and today I achieved zilch. Mind you I do have a sick little clingy bubba who has hampered me dramatically and a little school girl who has forgotten how to entertain herself. Today involved paper mache and mural creation and one little eye sewn on a softie. oh well.... I did get two more pixie's and one little alien whole and complete on the weekend so that's pretty good.

And for Anna and her beautiful little babe, Bonnie, some babushka's to peruse:) I must admit to singing away to Kate Bush classics as I make these litte ones.

busy fingers

Man it's been cold! So cold in fact, I thought it was going to snow the other day rather than rain. brrrrrr! So what's been keeping me busy? Well still getting ready for the market I've been going on about for ages. I really want to have lots of stock, so that's what I'm doing.

The last few days I've been working on pixies which i haven't done much of lately. In fact, i think i've only made one this year! After working on polly dolly's they seem so small! Weird really as I've always thought them to be a good size but maybe they could be a tad bigger.

I have this little miss just about finished sans wings, and a few more waiting for some stuffing. All are unnamed as I'm a bit lost for names at the moment which is definitely a reflection on the inability to find a suitable name for bubba in tum. Nothing! I have nothing!

What I do have however is quite a few polly dolly's, unnamed of course!

Some aliens, unnamed but waiting patiently for a few more friends.

And a basket full of monties.

See, busy fingers. And quite showing it too, i might have to brave the chill and head out to purchase some Burts bee's banana and almond hand cream that I've been promising myself. yum factor!

sage's pixie

I've been busily working on the "local love" pixies for upcoming stocking, i know i know, it's been upcoming for what seems like ages, but i promise you it's coming! Anyway I was just finishing of this little miss which features one of my fav prints by Lara Cameron when I noticed Sage's eyes bulging out of her head when she looked at it. She loved it! I decided since I like this one so much and Sage obvioulsy did as well, then she could have it.

So here's Sage's first pixie, which is apparently quite tasty. I do have another one all made up for her, it just needs stuffing so I'll be popping that one up randomly in the next week.

So now I'll be making another pixie to replace Sage's as well. So the plan at the moment is a super exciting, and quite large stocking by tik and I featuring lots of fabulous prints by local aussie fabric designers in about 2 weeks

oh and did you notice the very special wings? Beautiful rainbow hand dyed felt from winterwood. Just awesome and more like them to come....promise

and new nappies....a fantastic, awesome, unreal, wonderful trade with a clever and creative Mumma. But these deserve there own post:D

scarlett

Little scarlett here will be going up in the shop this arvo. She's sweet and sports a bit of a different hair do, the classic bob.

Thought I'd also share a pic of Asher in his new owl tee. Tully loves it that Asher has a tee "like hers". I love this green on him:D Don't forget toleave a message below if you would like a similar one for your own little one.

And lastly, Tully's photo for the day. There has been about 50 of them (20 of the bathroom plug) but this one I especially love.

spring fever

It's almost like I have spring fever. No I'm not cleaning though. No way, who wants to do that! I'm too busy "making".

I've finished all the pixies from the last post and have popped the last two up in the shop today. Dacey and Sookie. Can you spot them in the picture below? This is my desk today with a few little tee's in progress. The pixies are covering up two so I don't spoil the surprise and the other two are for the shop.

Somemore pixies are also on the way, along with a couple of dresses. Busy I tell you!

lonely little pixie

This little pixie has been sitting up in the shop all by herself for the last few days. She's a good little lass and is very patiently waiting for a couple of friends to join her before I pop her up for "buy now". Hopefully they'll all be ready to leave the nest by weekend.

on my desk....wednesday

Yay for Spring!!!! Spring has arrived and so has a lovely change in the weather. Just a couple of degrees warmer but 17 is so much nicer than 14! And blue skies! It's been a while since we've seen them. The rain has been wonderful and we certainly need more for the poor old rivers around here but my god it's so nice to have a little bit of dry weather to catch up on washing and go for walks without lugging all the wet weather gear along jic. On the first day of Spring Tully jumped out of bed expecting to see heaps of beautiful flowers and butterflies flitting everywhere in our yard. Poor little thing didn't know what was going on.

Along with the warmer weather has seen a bit of renewed ethusiasm and energy to "make" on my part. So today I have two desks to share.

This one is my desk in the warm lounge. Here is where I work away on pixies and do a bit of sketching in the evening and when it's really chilly. Hopefully these pixies will be making an appearnce in the shop some time soon along with some more tee's. It has been ages since I put anything up! Oh and can you see the little cherub sticking her head in the side of the shot. Funny little one...

And this is the other desk in the study/playroom. I've been doing a bit more sewing of little skirts and planning summer dresses and pants for the kidlets. A good friend had a beautiful little girl recently so I have also been scheming up some pressies for the dear little Bonnie along with a bit of painting for long overdue trades.

Busy busy desks....

pixie perfect!

I often have this little phrase running around in my head. "pixie perfect" with a little american sort of twang to it. It's from Tully's little tinkerbell camera and I swear the bloody thing drives me a bit bananas sometimes. Whoever invented noisy toys needs to have a child continuoulsy pressing the buttons on one all day and see the effect. Mind you I did buy the bloody thing so am certainly responsible.

It has been quite some time since I last posted some pics of something I made. That's because it's taken me so long to achieve much these days. No morning sickness or anything just lots of getting around with kindy drop-offs and pick-ups and a bit of snoozing when the kids are and I would normally be working. Nanna naps have become a daily activity of late. Thanks so much for all the lovely well wishes for our very exciting news. I've already bought the new bub a little fitted nappy and tully keeps talking about all the little dresses we need to buy it.

I must apologise for the very disjointed flow of this post. Fuzzy brain today... So the pixies below. Well they're promised for pixies that will be zooming off to their new owners hopefully tomorrow if the rain abaits enough for me to get to the PO with them. The rain doesn't stop me getting around at all. Yesterday we braved the downpour in wet weather gear for kindy drop-offs and it was actually really lovely to be out in it. But I can't be taking little pixies out in the chilly rain.

Another reason for the quiet over hear in blogland is this is number 200 post and I really, really wanted to be doing a giveaway custom pixie or tee but have found myself just way too snowed under so promise to do a giveaway sometime between here and post 250. Cool?

pixies are up and flying

Oscar and Lillian are up ready for some little person to love and cherish right now. Gee it was a battle getting shots of them today with crazy winds and crazy kids!

We're off for a break across the border tomorrow for a bit so I'll be awol for awhile. Whilst I'm gone a very special collaboration between tikki and I will be up for auction. It's up previewing at the moment so take a peep if you like.

sunday, sunny sunday

It's the first day of winter today, yet the sun is out and there is a lovely warmth in the air. Not in our house though. Brrrrr, it's a bloody icebox. Oh well, can't be whingeing on such a lovely day.

We're realxing a bit at home today. Some true winter activites have been taking place. Like gumboot wearing (well this isn't really season bound) however they MUST always be worn on the wrong feet. I want these boots for me!

Some pumpkin scone cooking. Pretty good although they could have had more volume. I can never get the height out of my scones that the country ladies from my hometown were always able too. What's the secret??? Later on today I hope to get the potatoes cooking to make this fabulous boston bun. Yummmy winter foods

And the budidng artist has been slapping some paint around. I love his work! But not his artistic temperament..... Gee this lad can chuck a tanti! He's so much more demanding than his sis ever was. Is this a boy thing?

And lastly a bit of prep for the listing of sweet Sunni for the shop some time today.

ozebaby updates

A couple more tee's will be making an appearance over in the ozebaby store today. The pixie will be an auction but the little geisha will have a buy now on her.

I particularly love the gorgeous eric carle "The very hungry caterpillar" fabric. The book is a favourite here. When I asked Tully what book the fabric was from she said "in the light of the moon". I was perplexed for a bit until I realised it was the first line in the book. Cute. I got the fabric from here but sadly I think I got the last cut in store

Back later today for what's on my desk. Gotta feed the troops now.

on my desk .......wednesday

Gee it's been nearly a week since my last post. Not sure where that week went. I think it was in a shower of hankies and whineing about being sick of being sick on my part. Yep - still sick. Turns out I have a sinus infection. Yucko :( So It's been a fairly unproductive week again.

On my desk today are a couple of little pixie gals getting ready to make an appearance along with a pair of duds for the asher boy that just need the elastic finished in them. They've needed that elastic finished in them for the last 2 weeks. Oh well, Asher doesn't care. The duds are completley ripped-off from a pair tikki made for him last year but hey she's my sis and she let's me.

Another of my sister's, Julianne, sent me this awesome bag for my birthday. I've used it already! Clever chicks my sister's!

Go and check out what is on someother desk's around the traps here

on my desk - a day late

Why do you have two camera batteries if both of them are flat at them same time? I found myself asking myself this afternoon. Oh well, the most exciting thing on my desk today and yesterday was this awesome piece of printing equipment which arrived on my doorstep on Tuesday. It was my birthday and Lach was so clever to organise shipment from Japan just in time to arrive on the exact day!!!! No he wasn't really that clever, it was just sheer luck. It still looks like that too! All boxed up. I still have a fuzzy head from a crazily horrible headcold and I don't want to tackle the gocco until I have a real brain again. Hope that won't be long now! I visited the health shop yesterday and got some stuff to help fight the dreaded thing and get me back on track. We got the gocco (and the image) from here.

Apart from staring aimlessly at the gocco, and looking after the ankle biters, I have also finished off a couple of t-shirts and have one softie/tee set all ready to go up in the shop Keo softie and t-shirt set should be making an appearance sometime tonight. I will also have a little gertie girl softie and t-shirt set appearing over the next day or so. She still has to "get stuffed".

Here's a little sneak peek at the next pikki tint set I'm about to send off to Tikki today. It's sure is going to be a cute set I think. A special boy's one!

bloomin' lurgy's

What a crazy weekend we had here. A bit yuck really. The kids and I have colds for about a week, hankies go in and out of the wash with disgusting speed. Gross. Poor little Asher also came down with an ear infection on Saturday which resulted in some very sleepless nights for us all and very zombiesque people yesterday. And we're still all full of the dreaded lurgy! Poor us! Lach is the only trouper who hasn't come down with it.

So regardless to say not a lot was achieved over the weekend. However, I did pull out the paints brushes and finally finished the t-shirt that has been sitting on my easel for the last coule of weeks. It's going off to tikki's to become a pikki tint set and should make an appearance on ozebaby sometime soon. I also started 2 t-shirt to go with a couple of softies, which I have also finished.

Keo (above) is all ready to go and his little friend Gertie just needs some more stuffing and wings. I also made a couple of hairclips inspired by the accessories Gertie was sporting. They should be up in the shop some time today.

pixies

Two little pixies all finished and looking a treat. Tully has adopted the teapot one and the other is heading off to a new home. I've got a boy version for asher all ready to go but I have to wait for the fabric I want to use for the hair to dry. It's been raining here for the last two days. Not much, and never enough but it's so nice to have it. I really can't remember the last time it rained.

I hadn't posted a picture of this little fella that I finished quite a while ago. The paints have been very idle of late but hopefully I'll find my painting mojo soon and finish the other little lad that's sitting on my easel.

some little gals

I managed to finish off a couple of gals last night. I'm trying to use the tone my little neice Lily does when she says girls. For her they are little gals. Too cute. I have lots of ideas for new ones but I'm really hanging to make a pixie softie. I can't stop thinking about how I could make it. You know the pattern and all that. I already have fabric planned I just need to do a little bit more thinking about the wings. I think they will be great pressies. aOf course Tully's will have to be first and then a little boy onefor asher as he misses outa bit, cause he doesn't demand them. Now if I was making firetrucks that would be another story.

So here's Suzy Strawberry first. I've done a couple of strawberry themes before but this tee just screamed for strawberry fabric. This little lass will be going up in the shop sometime today.

This little lady is for my little neice, Nikayla. I don't think she reads my blog so I don't think her surprise will be ruined.

And last is a tee and some pockets that are about to be whizzed off in the post to tikki to finish off for a belated prize for NC. A bit tardy and no excuses. So I hope the receipient doesn't mind and that she likes the set. The flower is the cooktown orchid and is the floral emblem for queensland where this tee is heading to. I really like doing the pixies with native flowers. I think there will be more of these soon. Oh and speaking of sets I forgot to post pics of a special custom tikki and I did for a very patient lady. Tikki has pics of it here

Shesh my kids are going feral! Best go break up the brawl....

turtle rodeo!

My partner, Lachie used to do conservation work on Green Turtles. For fieldwork the capture of the turtles involved something they called turtle rodeo. Basically they'd go out in boats and jump onto the turtles back to capture them. Pretty crazy stuff hey. The turtle weren't hurt at all - they're bloody huge. So when I did the sketch for this little pixie it instantly reminded me of a turtle rodeo, well my vision of one anyway.

I gave this little guy the name Godwin which I really love. It means good friend:) I have him up previewing in the shop at the moment and plan on putting him up for auction over the weekend.

I've also made a couple more softies. :)

Polly and cosmonaut devilis in the works. The devil will be for a little boy who is turning 3. Tully has claimed Polly once again. She was meant to be for someone else *rolls eyes* Oh well I'll just have to make more. damn hey :)

I'm hoping to get a couple more tee's done for the shop before Friday. So check it out. They'll be just poping up live.
