I have a little shadow......

who follows me around :) Well she doesn't really follow as such but is right beside me most of the times. She's my newest little mate and I'm loving hanging out with her.

She's doing all the right things and is a sweet little cruiser. She's loving her hammock.

And bath time has been a hit all round.

As you can see in the first pic she even hangs with me whilst I sew. I'm slowly working away on some pixies which will hopefully be making appearances over here and here sometime soon. Things are a bit slower but they're still happening as promised.

two little toys for two little boys...

We've recently had two new additions to my family, two little boys Tobias and Declan. I've been a bit of a slacker at getting their pressies but have finally completed the last of them today, well I nearly have, just gotta add some wings. I haven't named the little fella's yet though, might get Tully to help me with that. Her last request for the bub's name was Merryweather and Asher's was Whale. hmmmmmm I think he's thinking of me actually.

You know how I said there wouldn't be any more pixies for a while...well I lied. Today I pulled out the fabric to have a go at mix and matching some colours, but have been put on hold by my lack of skin toned felt. I rang up Winterwood toys to order some more and was shocked to be told the fires were only 20 miutes from them. I felt a bit guilty and very apologetic as I was requesting felt asap, but the ladies are so lovely there. Of course they have been affected by the fires but are still working away...I guess you just have too! The pixies will be appearing over at the Bushfire relief appeal whilst some others will be included in comfort packs.

Oh and bub is now officially over due lol. I knew it would be and beside twinges I don't think much is happening yet. We're off to visit Mum for her birthday tomorrow so maybe bub will decide to make a show when we get home ....and not whilst we are away. Today I tackled the very daunting task of handwashing the beautiful shawl Mum made for Tully when she was a wee one. It's absolutely amazing , clever thing that she is. But I get so nervous washing it in fear it's going to stretch out of shape or something. Looks good still though :D

Have you checked out the Bushfire appeal over at Ozebaby yet???? Go and do so if you haven't, there are some great things up for auction. There's also some stuff coming up over at Gossamer Dreams in a few days as well.. And handmade help too:D

Heavy heart

How can one have anything but a heavy heart at the moment with the horrific bushfire disaster in Victoria. Can you believe it's still going and there are d*ckheads out lighting fires??? The death tolls continue to rise, and will probably do so for a while, towns are still at risk and peoples lives have been untterly and totally destroyed. As I sit here, I feel so humbled and so lucky, but SO heavy of heart. What can one do to help??? Well ....a little can help.

There are lots of places doing some wonderful things to help. Meet me at mikes has a whole list of things you can do. Beyond pink and blue are putting together care packages for kids which is a wonderful idea for in the future. Nappycino is hosting a nappy drive for all those bubba's who have lost their stashes. And their are many many wonderful auctions all over the place.

Tikki and I have decided to do a very special auction for a custom set which is currently previewing over at the special Bushfire Appeal store on ozebaby . It's been a very long time since we did a custom set, and they are sure to be rarer than hen's teeth with both of us having little bubba's. I'll also be popping up some pixies and owl tee's as well. 100% of sales will be going directly to the bushfire appeal. Keep a watch over at ozebaby at the new store, Victoria Bush Fire Relief, as there will be lots of wonderful wahm's contributing. Every little bit helps so please dig deep and show that you care.

Tully's Tropical Lily

Gee we've been keeping the postie busy here lately. Nearly every morning we get a delivery at about 7.30, it's like he's our alarm clock. It's a most uncivilised hour though and very much a rude awakening when we moved in here but now we're used to it.

Today's delivery was very exciting for Tully as it was for her! Every time there's a parcel she's so hopeful that it will be for her but lately it's been stuff for the baby. Today Tully's very talented and generous Aunty Tikki sent Tully a very special top, an Tropical Lily. If you haven't checked out tik's patterns go do so. She's very generous and shares these fab designs for free on her blog. She tells me they are easy to knit but I'm soooo not a knitter:D We have a Oriental Lily which is so super pretty and now a tropical Lily and will be getting a newborn Rainbow Lily if bub is a girl (please be a girl lol). Spoilt aren't we:D and very very appreciative, thank you a squillion Tik:D

I was also a very lucky recipient of a couple of dishcloths. The ones I had are falling apart and desperately needed some more. Was I going to attempt to knit them??? Hell no! I just nagged Tik to make me some, and when they were just a bit too soft and spesh for the dishes I nagged for some more. And look, it worked:D But these are a bit too spesh too me thinks lol:D

polly dollie version 1

Finished off Polly Dollie just in time for Tully to take off to bed last night, so off she danced. Apparently she has dancer's legs and is already much loved by my little miss. I'm planning on tweaking the pattern a bit as she's not quite there but is still very close. The next version I've been told will be for Lily, as "Lily doesn't have one".

valentine oobee

Check out this sweet little Valentine Oobee that arrived in my mailbox today. Soooo Super sweet. I was lucky to get a custom one from the very clever Leslie from one girl I came across a post on her blog offering custom Valentine Oobee's and since bub is due Valentine's Day thought it would be the perfect gift from the kids. Well actually I lie, the bub's due the day before but Valentine's Day sounds so much nicer than friday 13th. Not that bub is likely to arrive on either of those days, but how could I go past an oobee! It is delightfully soft and cuddly. His name is Casanova and is made from a beautiful wool blend. I love him sooo:D

He's already hanging out in the hammock waiting for a bub to join him. The hammock has been set up from the day we got it, the kids had to put it up the moment it was delivered. Thankfully Tik was here with her hammock so I could check out that it looked right. The change table has been moved into our room as well with a bunch of gorgeous naps waiting for a bub. The two shelves aren't all bub's though. The basher boy is still tting. He's getting there, just slower than I had hoped.

Yesterday the postie delivered this book which I had posted about (yes, the postie has been making regular deliveries of late). It is a beautiful beautiful book! I had hoped that it would touch a little bit on where bub really comes from, although my kids do know. The ilustrations are amazing.

This one is my fav.

How sweet is that! Talk about a very baby orientated post! Well it is on my mind at the moment, although I am in no hurry for bub to come. I'm enjoying being pregnant. I'm not too huge and bub is nice and low and "YAY" has gone anterior again. I'm on a couple of homeopathic brews to hopefully encourage an arrival before the medical profession decides it really has been long enough. I'm still walking into town and up and down lots of hills (which is all this town is made from..hills!!)and of course crafting. Here's my latest baby in the works. I've been thinking about this little dollie for a while now. She's from some pics I drew ages ago and will hopefully turn out just as I envisage her. Well nah that ain't gonna happen, I hope she just turns out close to what I imagine. Just sneak peeks for the moment.

making

hairclips.

I wasn't intending on getting back into the old hairclips but I've had to put my big fat feet up for a bit in the evenings lately and the old hairclips are such a nice and easy craft to do whilst reclining on the couch. Tully wants them all of course but has agreed that we'll go buy some more buttons just for her. I love these buttons! So pretty. Some will be going up in the shop soon, maybe tomorrow...or the next day:D

oh and how's this for a catch 22! I have to put the big fat fluid feet up but reclining on the couch is no good to get the bub to move from posterior. Shesh man!!!
